Enticed by the promise of gaining insights into ‘Succeeding in an ever changing marketplace’, BlueChip attended the 18th annual Financial Standard Sales and Marketing Forum in May this year.

The three-day event included a range of presentations about strategies and trends currently being explored in the sales and marketing side of funds management.

Michelle Baltazar, Financial Standard’s Publisher and Head of Media, spoke about being the ‘iPad app trailblazers’ among financial trade journals, while ASFA CEO, Pauline Vamos, (unflappable when her topic was changed minutes before her presentation) addressed the issue of engaging super members. We also heard about the changing face of advertising and the rise of content marketing, and how one adviser – Matthew Leech from PSK Financial Services – cherishes valuable unbranded content he can pass onto clients.

There was a plethora of quality presentations providing food for thought for attendees questioning how to stay ahead or just keep up with an ever changing marketplace (and, speaking of food … the buffet wasn’t bad either!).

This event is held in conjunction with the annual Rainmaker Excellence Awards. Congratulations to all who were nominated and/or won.
