BlueChip Communication CMO series: ‘Is your marketing old school or new school? How about mixing it up?’

In the last month or so BlueChip hosted a series of informal events for clients and industry friends where we shared Carden Calder’s ‘how to take a financial services business from old to new world’ presentation from Content Marketing World 2013.

The marketing directors who attended shared some key challenges that they face in their organisations, many of which Carden’s presentation and the ensuing discussion helped to address, proving the benefit of peer-to-peer learning when it comes to the new world of Content Marketing!

A number of topics discussed at these events have been covered in blog posts – part 1: staying relevant when surrounded by digital natives, establishing clarity in roles and responsibilities andpart 2: overcoming old school thinking that wants to hold onto IP and demonstrating ROI to Internal Stakeholders.

Team News by Sophie Schuler

New office manager

This quarter we welcomed Katy Washington as our new Office Manager. Katy brings with her a wealth of experience in office administration and we all enjoy her strong organisational skills and dedication to the role.

Katy has already made some positive changes to the way we work here at BlueChip and we are reaping the benefits of her ‘can do’ attitude and tenacity – traits of a true BlueChipper! Welcome to the team, Katy.

Our latest intern

Gabby Watson recently joined the BlueChip team as an Intern while she finishes her communications studies at UTS.

As the newest BlueChipper, Gabby’s contribution to the team has been invaluable and we have all appreciated her enthusiasm and ability to get the job done. You can read more about Gabby’s experience as an Intern on the BlueChip blog.

Farewell to Sophie Halls-Anning

Our General Manager leaves us – in far better shape than she found us – at the end of 2013. After three years helping us set up ‘big agency’ systems and processes Sophie Halls-Anning (aka SHA) is moving on, albeit not far.

Her next role is with our partner firm F4, leading key consumer clients, and helping grow the business using her considerable FMCG, lifestyle and nutrition communication expertise. Thanks to her work, other BlueChippers will be able to run many of the processes she set up, and that support our team to serve clients. A huge thank-you SHA and all the best for your next move.
