“Short-termism” is ‘wealth destructive’ Tim Samway, Managing Director of Hyperion Asset Management, tells the Australian Financial Review. In an in-depth interview, Tim gives his view on investors’ tendency to chase short-term profits, stating that this kind of analysis has driven at least some of the sell-off in US tech stocks. "It does frustrate me to see the market focusing on the short term – it destroys capital. The whole market tends to look at price earnings over a year, maybe over two. It just locks people into that short-term mindset."
